We camped on the playing fields near the river. Chain Events had an arrangement with whoever owns it and we used the changing rooms. It’s a hard ride, though.

Couldn’t find a campsite around Alston. There was one in town but appeared to be part of a scrap yard. Ended up in someone’s garden half way up a hill out of Nenthead.
