I was staying down at my parents in Northallerton over Christmas and came across your post whilst looking for a walk I could do nearby. It was my first time exploring a new part of the Moor since I was much younger and I thought it was a great circuit. I just caught up with this wonderful post. Kildale! Battersby! names of my distant youth…those wonderful scenes, so beautiful, and so what southerners insist is bleak, what do they know…anyway, thank you so much for a long walk. I seem to recall the occasional hunt around Kildale, never saw it, too young, and family not into supporting it.
